1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, and the like.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, and the like.

4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda i s neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes the media are directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media are indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

8. Religion and Government are Intertwined - Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Seems many people are confused. I keep seeing the same thing. Terrorist=middle eastern, muslim. Immigrant=illegal, mexican. Do you fit into this category? Or do you realize that terrorism exists EVERYWHERE in EVERYBODY, and immigrants are from EVERYWHERE, and not always ILLEGAL? This is perhaps the reason it took a while to find Timothy McVeigh (they thought he was middle eastern, and brown) and the reason we are arresting teenagers from Ohio for buying cell phones (they were of middle eastern descent) and then letting them go for lack of evidence.

I have always wanted to work in an orphanage, but don't know if there is any around Minnesota. Does anyone know of any? It would not be for employment, but for volunteering.

I've lived on both east and west coasts and have visited many cities for quite some time (NYC, DC, ATL, MIA, S.F, Oakland, L.A, Seattle, Portland.) My ? is with the population difference between the two coasts, Are black's interests, representation, housing, civil rights, safety, etc being addressed as equally if the numbers were as large as the east coast. Blacks populate less than 7% (i believe) of the west coast, and it seems the disparity between success and achievements of AVERAGE blacks (not actors, entertainers) is greater. Can AVERAGE blacks prosper on the west coast as easily on the east coast?

Yes, this is true. I am just wondering how many of you all think this is wrong. My parents don't know about us, and I am wondering if I should continue in our relationship. (which does include sex, yes)

I think most people who work have a degree in business have heard of an Interpersonal Relationships course. It was a 3 day course and everyone who worked at the offices had to take it. I recently went to a job interview, and I included that course as one of the Courses Taken. The guy asked if I was sent to that course becuase with problems with co-workers, I said no, then he started asking me if I've ever had problems with human resources and if people had ever reported me, and I said no. He kept quiet, and told me he couldn't risk hiring someone who would be a liability because of his attiude problems.

This guy is stupid, doesn't he know that's a course lot of company like their employees to have? How does he get the idea I have attitude problems because of me taking that course that everyone else took?

Ditko's work featured the classical villains: Doc Ock, Vulture, Kraven, Osborne's alter-ego. Romita gave shape to MJ & Gwen as we know them, also a More muscular Spidey came with Kane -who penciled 'The Night Gwen Stacey Died' and Ross Andru kept this school for long time.

I've been taking Trivora for the past 3 weeks and became severly depressed within a day of starting. I find myself contemplating my marriage (my husband is wonderful and has done nothing wrong) and nothing excites me anymore. We've been planning to buy a house and start a family and I feel almost numb inside. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it just me?

Since it was wierd to word the question, allow me to expand.

Fact: A human is created when the sperm meets the egg and is allowed to develop for 7-9 months. At which point does the infant recieve it's soul? Is the soul carried in the sperm? Is it already in the egg? Or does the baby get it's soul when it's outside of the mother's body (ie: being born)?

Lastly, how much does the soul weigh (in lbs or kg please)?

These questions should be quite easy since your bible has the answers to everything right? If you can't answer, then your bible isn't the source of all knowledge. Is this something you can deal with?
