I know the country was under Spanish rule for 100 yrs but before that, they had native filipino names. Isnt naming your child a spanish name a reminder of the Spanish colonialism. France colonized vietnam but you dont see them with French names. Also, a very small percentage of filipinos have spanish blood. Im asking because I met a filipino today who clearly looked asian, but his name was Jose Garcia.

A co-worker of mine, recently received a summons for reporting to jury duty. I was surprised, but, I'm glad it was her and not me because I have no time or desire to deal with such B.S.

What is the advantage of being summoned for jury duty, anyways? And what will happen if someone does not, or refuses, to answer the summons? I hope that I never receive a summons because I better things to deal with other than any kind of government issues.

On my way home today from work, I noticed my battery light was on. When I looked at the gauge, the arm was in the negative. The radio was not on. The car never acted up. When I got into my drive way, I turned off the van and it cranked back up but the light was still on. I have had the van for about 3 years and I am thinking that the battery just needs to be replaced. Is there anything else I should check before I skip work tomorrow to get a new one? By the way, I did open the hood and looked at the cables. They were not corroded and the battery - well, looked like a battery!!

Tom Jones has always been a favorite of mine because of the feelings he puts in his songs. I do know he is 66 years old because I was born the same year as him and saw him on stage many years ago. I thought he was taller. Of course when you see someone on tv, it is not the same as seeing live on the stage. He still has his powerful voice, but I don't know if he does tv anymore. I am wondering why those wonderful shows he did are not shown like the networks did with so many of the other shows that are repeated. Perhaps it's a question of copyrights from who bought them, or perhaps he does not want to give permission?

I saw another comment about Tom Jones in another question saying that his looks are fading out but not his shakes and moves.. The person never mentionned his voice. Of course he doesn't look like he did in the 70's but he still can sing!

but repressed the memories for years. Now she remembers, and has become almost immobile. The vibrant, energetic person we all knew is gone. She is constantly sick with one thing or another.
