my doctor said Im borderline pregnant what else could cause your hcg level to rise?

that means the blood test was too early (it will happen if you haven't missed your period yet)
when your blood test shows less than 5 units of hcg you are considered not pregnant
when you it shows 25 units you are considered pregnant (that's the same amount that will show on a urine test BTW)
anything between 5 and 25 is borderline and needs to be retested, either you tested too early to get the qualified 25 minimum or had a very early miscarriage and some hcg is still left over in your body

There are several things. You could have a cyst or a polyp. You could also be pregnant or had a chemical pregnancy( that means that you were pregnant but the pregnancy did not take for some reason and the hch levels will fall pretty fast ) or you could be having an ectopic pregnancy ( which is very serious ) . You need to find out from the dr if they will be planning on doing more tests because this could be serious if you are not taking any meds containing hcg.

Did you ask your Dr??? That probably would've been your best bet. Are you on any fertility medicine? Some will cause you to have HCG levels.

Ask your doctor what he means by "borderline pregnant" - either you are, or you are not.
He has to look for the cause; though if I were you I'd get a different doctor.

continue to have your levels checked. if they drop you have probably had a miscarriage. if they rise- you are probably pregnant.
the rate at which the levels rise is very rapidy... so if you get them checked again they would have risen noticeably if you are pregnant.

Perhaps you were pregnant and had a miscarriage without realizing that you were pregnant.
