A Jehovah's Witness pestered my household on a continuous basis for just short of five years. As I recall, about the first time she made her appearance was during Christmas dinner. She came back on a weekly basis soon after that encounter. We told her we were not interested and asked her not to come back. I admit that we may have made criminal threats, because of our extreme level of frustration and exasperation. However, shortly after, she would be back at our door, staring us brazenly and defiantly in the face.
Finally, one day someone in the household said to her, "I know why you're here, and I know why you're here on this day! I know who sent you here too, the one who showed up at the same time as you."
That display of words frightened her, and she never returned.
It is true that she showed up about the same time as a convert relative who had visited after a long absence. As for the date, all I can think of is the autumn equinox. Could she have been a Druid?
