Well my friend I'll answer your question with the assumption (based on your terminology) that you are a God fearing person, your use of the word: "Adultery", is why I assume your are... Good!
My friend, pornography or "porn" comes from the word "pornia" which is the greek word for idolatry! We know idolatry to be the worship of something other than God. To worship is to have extravagant respect for or love for someone or something thus making it your god. The bible tells us in Matthew (5:28) That even to look upon a person with lust is committing adultery in our hearts!

Matthew 6:22-23 NIV: "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"

Pornography can damage your ability to have a real mutually giving, loving, sexual relationship with your future spouse. So although you may be a virgin physically, you can actually set yourself up for disappointment! You're tuning yourself to respond to sexual pleasure that doesn't have to envolve another human being (the way God intends) The opposite of love is not hate, it's selfishness! And porn can cause all types of side effects:

Sexual dissatisfaction
Perversions (homosexuality, bestiality, bisexuality, transexuality, fetishes, etc.)
Irritability
Sexual imbalance
Masturbation
Lies & deception
Uncontrolled thoughts
Spiritual oppression
Marital strife
Corrupted perception of reality
Warped interpersonal skills
Reclusiveness
Fear
Increased tendency toward sexual crime
Guilt & condemnation
Loss of Hope
Depression
Inability to give or receive love
Spiritual death
Torment
Depraved mind
Darkened understanding
Loss of discernment between good & evil
Promiscuity
& Lustful eye

God loves us! God isnt trying to keep us from enjoying the gift of sex, but we are guilty of perverting sex and using it for entertainment, and instant gratification, instead of in a loving, safe & meaningful marriage relationship.

Proverbs 5:18-20 -- "May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer--may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love. Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another man's wife?" .....

So I hope this helps! Good luck with your issue. I will pray for you and I encourage you to do the same. God loves you and wants only the best for you! Here is a resource that can really help you.... When you're ready!

Well if you really want to get down to technicality. There were no such things as DVDs, computers or even photographs back then. The religious texts say that even if you look at a woman in a lustful way then you have committed adultery, if you are married. People seem to for get that the meaning of adultery is IF you are married, if you are not married it is called fornication, also look at it this way, if you are looking at pornography, you are not looking at an actual girl, you are looking at images of a girl. The bible clearly states if you are looking at a girl in a lustful manner not if you are looking at images of a girl in a lustful manner. So no, technically it is not a sin.

lmao, there are prerequisites for the concept of adultery to hold true .Technically you have to be married or living with someone and comitted for the act to be classed as adultery. Now with that prerequisite taken care of, gratification garnered from pornographic material is not a bad thing unless its your only source of gratification sexually and a significant others needs being overlooked, overridden or ignored. In other words you would prefer your porno to your other half. Even then, its still just a stumbling block to a relationship rather than the big A word.

dont ask me.... to me it sounds like religion and the court system has too much in common, i believe one of the commandments says thou shalt not commit adultery.....but im athiest so im not for sure about all this. alls i know is that they should change that... or at least make it understandable or elaborate it. i would love to take a college class that taught us exactly what every law meant and things like that. it would be very interesting. i think its not adultery if you only have sex with the person you are going to marry for sure. maybe thats what other religions think, so when their daughter has sex with a guy, thats why they automatically get married. im not for sure, but maybe you should look it up.....

man you sure brought the morality patrol out with this one.
Do not even concider that the christians think that playing with your own tool in the privecy of your own house ahould be agenst the law and punishable by life in prison.
They go to church on sunday and are all goody goody and then the Ladies go back to the rectory with there daughters and gang bang the preachers for a few hours. then tell you that you cant do what you want and read porno.
It is just that they don't get the money from the girls that are preforming.

Adultery isn't confined to sexual intercourse. The simple thought of it with a person is enough to be sinful.

by which and/or whose definition, of course? need we even ask? the more "entry level" a belief system is, the more they find evil and wish to repress and control. interestingly, as one learns even in psych.1: "what is repressed will be obsessed". fairly self explanatory, eh? on the other hand when a belief system is found at the other end of the spectrum: esoteric buddhism,or taoism, for example. or, even esoteric christianity, as in gnosticism, tolerance is paramount, rather than judgement and condemnation. which would you choose? in this regard, check out: *gnosis of the cosmic christ*. also you might find www.sahajayoga.com, and the book: *the complete idiot's guide to toltec wisdom* of interest. enjoy!

Matthew 5:28
But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

No, you're committing "fornication." Also, if the porno star(s) you're lusting after is married, you ARE then committing adultery.
