there is a corridor that leads into an empty room. the room is completely empty except for a lamp in one of the corners. on the other side of the corridor are 3 switches. you know that one of them turns on the lamp, the other 2 dont do anything. you can play around with the switches turning each of them on and off as much as you like, then you can go into the room 1 (one!!) time to check whether the lamp is on or off (there is a door so you cant know without entering the room). leaving the room, you have to know which of the 3 switches works and which 2 dont.

im getting married and my sons (8&10) want to change their last names legally to my fiances. their biological father only comes around a few times a year and doesnt pay child support but told us he will NOT let my fiance adopt them. however he did agree to let them change their last name to his. do we have to do a step parent adoption in order to change their last names?

I met this guy on the net, he was the first guy I ever met off the net, well first guy i met ever. He was really sweet at first and texted and called me alot and we chatted online for hours. About 3 weeks into a sexual relationship he stopped calling me, stopped replying to my texts etc. You think I should carry on chasing him or just give up? but this new person is just not the same as the guy I have been seeing for over a year. I knew it would end because he is married but still I have an awful void in my heart. I had a good time meeting the new guy but there are things about him that bother me, he is kinda cheap ( 1 item of the dollar menu only) and he can be simple minded and boring sometimes. He is single but In the month that I have know him I haven't seen him but twice. How do I get interested in this guy and feel the same way about him as I did the guy I just lost when there are things about him that turn me off?

I get extremely intimidated by intelligent people. A lot of the time I avoid answering questions here because of that. In person I often become quiet or refuse to comment and act undecided.

I realized that part of this is because of my age. I’m much younger than a lot of the people I associate myself with. My age embarrasses me sometimes, I know it’s silly but I’ve been teased and stuff.

What makes it even worse is how my father tries to pin it on illnesses (he’s currently trying to diagnose me with Williams Syndrome). He says I have nothing to be ashamed of, and that I’m “good enough” to socialize with these people without being worried, so obviously there’s some mental problem prohibiting me from realizing this. I don’t agree with him. I can be stupid without having a mental condition.

Am I being silly and unconfident like my father says or is it natural? Do any of you have problems with this? If so, any advice on how to get over it? Thank you!

for 6 mth since i split with my wife i have been feeling low.
now i have came to terms with it and we have an agreement of friends which has its good days and bad days.
why am i in this emotional cycle?
average pattern of 3 or 4 days feeling great life in order ect..
then 1 to 2 days of feeling really low, worrying about nothing and feel like crying and as if i have nothing to live for?
but wierd thing is i have everything to live for.
i just want it to stop i dont know why i cant just feel great or at least ok about things all of the time.
