I read it too. For the same reason you do.
You might be a Jew too.

I don't.
If I accept an invitation to go to a religious retreat, then I am searching for god so I can't be an atheist.
If I don't accept, then I am afraid of god, since going would prove me wrong, then I can't be an atheist.
If life is good with me, I choose not to believe in god because I haven't been in need.
If life went bad, I'm bitter about life and I hate god, that's why I say I am an atheist.
If I read the bible, I can't be an atheist, since I must be searching for god.
If I don't read the bible, then I am an atheist because I don't read god's word.
The fact is, some christians simple can't understand a honest statement about my feelings toward religion, it doesn't matter what I do or what I don't do, for some, there will be always an "excuse" since their belief is the right and only one.

Reading the Bible doesn't make you a "Christian," which means "little Christ." You only become a Christian by making a decision to ask for and accept forgiveness for your sins through Jesus Christ and by committing to follow in the ways of Jesus. The Holy Spirit then begins the work of transforming you into the image of Christ.
When someone shows an interest in the Bible, it can mean that God is drawing that person. In John 6:44 Jesus says, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him . . ." But even then, that person would have to come to the place of making an actual decision.

No. Some people read for knowledge instead of understanding God's word. When you read it, do you feel it? Do you understand it? Or do you only read it for entertainment like anyother book? To become Christian, you must fully accept Christ. Reading the Bible does not make you Christian.

You are not a Christian. Only if you profess your belief in Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and also trying to live your life according to what Jesus has told us. That is how you are defined as a Christian. Reading the Bible just means you are seeking knowledge. That person is stupid don't believe them about anything. They are just being manipulative.

Yes its true, because when I was little and read fairy tales, like Alice in Wonderland Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and all, I use to picture myself in, as the main character and behaved like one for days. So I guess you will be Christian or a Muslim or even a New Yorker, for a while. (but considering, you may not be little now)

I wouldn't agree with what this person told you.
I've read portions of other "holy books," including the Koran, the Book of Mormon, and the Book of Buddha. Doing so didn't make me a Muslim, Mormon, or Buddhist.
A Christian, in a nutshell, is someone who believes in the Triune God of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
If you believe that, you're a Christian. If you don't, you aren't.

No, reading the bible simply means that you are reading it. Doing what it says, becoming a follower of Christ, makes you a Christian.

No. But by reading the bible and getting intrested, God is trying to open your heart. If you want to believe in him and become a christian you just have to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior. Just make sure you listen to him with your heart, not your ears.

well just because you read something does not make you anything at all but one reading. When searching for the truth one must consider, Islam, Christianity, bud dist, Jewish, Whatever religion. You will find basics that are in each one that is wise to foll low there is only one god. Most religions you will find to be hypocritical

No. Reading the Bible doesn't make you a Christian automatically. There's a little more to it than that.
