there is a corridor that leads into an empty room. the room is completely empty except for a lamp in one of the corners. on the other side of the corridor are 3 switches. you know that one of them turns on the lamp, the other 2 dont do anything. you can play around with the switches turning each of them on and off as much as you like, then you can go into the room 1 (one!!) time to check whether the lamp is on or off (there is a door so you cant know without entering the room). leaving the room, you have to know which of the 3 switches works and which 2 dont.

Turn two on. Wait a long time and turn one off. Go in the room. If the light is on, it was the switch you left on.
If the bulb is hot it was the one you had on and turned off. I
f the bulb is cold then it was the switch you never touched.

Like Your stupid riddle I would like to answer it the same way.
in the corridor I will switch ON all the three switches, then I will enter the room through the DOOR. (The LAMP is surely lit bcoz all the switches are on then I will come back to the corridor and leave the DOOR of the room OPEN.
Then I will play with the switches, and I will definetly come to know which one is the Acutal SWITCH for the LAMP.

Firstly, it isn't an empty room if there is a lamp in one of the corners. Secondly, the switch that works is the one that turns the lamp on.

so the switches are in a different room or the same room? Your riddle doesn't make sense
it would make more sense if the switches were in a different room, and you had to figure it out. Because if you could "play around with the switches turning them on and off as much as you like" then you would see the light flicker if you were in the same room....

Open the door to the room with the lamp on your way to the room with the switches and flick the switches until one turns on the light, with the door open you'll see the change in light from the room.
P.S. Email me the right answer if you remember. Thanks!

I think it's switch number 1, if you'd do it in order. the second is the corridor, the third is for the room you're in right now. So that leaves you with the first one.

Turn one light switch on for a while. (Long enough for the bulb to get hot. then turn it off, and turn on the next one. Enter the room. If the light is neither on nor hot, then you know it is the last switch. If it is hot then you know it is the first switch. If it is on then of course it's the second switch. Your welcome.
