Going to NYC next week with my darling hubby. We are staying in Times Square, and he has mapped out a bunch of things to do. We will be spending one day in Harlem, and my assignment is to come up with our plans for that day. Any suggestions? Are there any good comedy clubs, museums, restaurants that you would recommend? We are in our mid-30's, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I am taking my 76 yr old father home to NY to visit his parents' graves, see his old neighborhood (Williamsburg) and "eat some good Chinese". He is insisting that we rent a car and the fact that there are 5 of us and he's not healthy makes me think that's not a bad idea. BUT, our hotel has a $35/night valet fee w/ no in/out privileges. My pop is not able to walk for long distances (which to him is about a block) Any suggestions?

I've been to NYC approximately 5 times already, but this time I'd like to take about three friends, split the gas money, and park the car someplace that won't cost a fortune, won't be a hassle, will be safe, and also be easy to get to downtown Manhattan. I've been told to park in New Jersey and take the ferry over, but also to park in Brooklyn and take the metro over...which would you suggest (or maybe a different way) and could you give a detailed description of where (exactly) to park and the address of the nearest metro station (if your instructions includes it). Of course, ANY information about this is helpful, thanks!

I'm am trying to find a rental car but they allow unlimited miles in my three surrounding states or you have to pay 20 cent per out of state mile or add on unlimited mileage at an extra 30 dollars a freaking day!!! Does anyone know if the car agency can absolutely ascertain if you took the car out of state?

Why did I see almost no police out for the Israeli Day Parade, but the Puerto Rican Day Parade requires buildings to board up their trees and bushes, and there are police buses, communication centers, barriers, street closings, etc?

Montauk Point has the lighthouse, but just before it is Camp Hero - the decommissioned military base that's now a public camp-ground. It's got that radar dish.

Anyway, you used to be able to get into the underground sections - the old areas. It was COOL. Does anyone know a way in?
