Ok, so we are traveling to visit the UK around Christmas this year (from the US). We are renting a car to get around. One of the days I would like to take the Chunnel and use it to go to France and ultimately visit Normandy Beach. Are there any restrictions to my ability to take a rental car into another country? If so, are there addendums you can purchase that would allow this sort of thing?

Thanks in advance for the info. Oh, btw, we plan to use one of the major rental car companies (Avis, Hertz, Alamo, etc) as opposed to something like Fred's Rentals.

I just returned from a trip to the UK, where I had a small fender bender with a UK resident. Rather than go through my car rental insurance, I agreed to pay him 100 pounds (same as the rental insurance deductible). I'm back in the US - how can I most easily get this money to him?

What are the historically most important castle or other similar places in the UK I may visit?
If I can only visit one place, what would that singlemost important place in UK be? It has to be historic.
What are other similar attractions?
Thanks!

UK's royal mail has more than 350 years excellent history of services. From the six digit post code, you can find any place anywhere in UK.

But i am interested to know how does it work ? We can get informations that how to go to address from post code. But my question is that "if we have some place, then how we can identify its postal code by ourself" ?

Or i am so interested to know that how they have divided all areas of UK into just 6 digit code ?
I've tried to find its answer from their web site, but its not there.

Can anyone help ?

What is the deal with out exchange rates??

I remember 10 years ago, the exchange rate from the dollar to the pound was around $1.40 for one pound.

Now , I just checked and it is over $2.00 now to buy one pound.

To buy a one pound American Express Travel Cheque , costs $2.22 !!!

Do these exchange rates level out when you compare them to the actual prices over there or not??

I am feeling like a third world person almost traveling to a first world country!!
