I'm visiting York for my birthday on the 20th and 21st of September this year. I haven't been before. I will be on my own. I'm interested in finding out about the history and seeing some sights. And doing some sort of ghosty type thing. I want somewhere to stay for as cheap as possible. All ideas welcome!

Why is it everytime I go to the States and people ask me where I'm from, I say Wales and they say England. Have they no idea we are seperate? I'm not against England or anything it just really gets me down that they don't seem to grasp the idea! Someone show them a map!

Does anyone know of a cheap (under 25 pounds) place to stay in either Watford or Huntingdon. As I will be getting about on foot I need to be as close as possible to the city centres. I have tried hostels but there aren't any in these towns.
