I went to this one last summer when we were in Glasgow for the World Science Fiction Convention. We spent a couple of days just walking around the city or taking a bus.

'Country Park' in the City of Glasgow beside the White Cart Water. Interpretation Centre and wildlife walks. Within the park are Pollok House and The Burrell Collection.

Open: Dawn to dusk.

Travel Directions: Pollokshaws Road on the south side of Glasgow, 3 miles from the city centre. Train from Glasgow Central to Pollokshaws West.

The whole of Scotland is a country park. The law has changed recently that now lets you walk almost where ever you want to. So if your driving alone and see a meandering river passing through a valley, you can stop the car and walk down there. Just make sure you follow the countryside code, shutting gates, and having dogs on the leash etc.
And enjoy our beautiful countryside.
