I filed for my passport on Jan 24, 2007. They said plenty of time for March 24. The schedule first said the week of March 18, now it is March 24 the day I leave. I cannot get through the phone lines, sent an email but no response there either. Do I not go on my ski trip?

Is it me or is the new "improved" yahoo maps horrible? It doesn't reconize my city or any other most of the time! I used to rely on them-did road trips, gauged my hours and found my clients homes-they've conpletely LOST IT if they think this is an improvement and they are in competition with mapquest(Ithink thats what it used to be) or google! ARGH!

I am going to Pakistan and would like to bring along some small gifts to give to our hosts (as is customary there).

What is a good gift representative of the US? I live in NYC so I have access to pretty much anything. I was thinking chocolates, but Godiva is a Belgian company right? Not exactly a good gift from an American!

I'd love to hear from you. I've only ever been abroard twice and have not been able to go for the last five years. Every time I manage to start saving, I have to use the money for some unexpected expense. While I can appreciate many of you have never been abroad, there is also an army of people who go religiously every year. Some even twice in a year!!

Which is about 730 km. I recently saw a photo of an outback road in Oz that had a sign that said "Warning! No fuel for 900km"

If I bought my UK car to Oz I couldn't use that road - so what I am wondering is, is there any way of driving on that highway other than in a long distance truck?

Do Australian cars have bigger petrol tanks or what? I'm just curious now

BTW Photo is here http://outbacktowing.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/truck3.jpg

If you were stranded by an ice storm, how would you handle it? I would try to be patient because I know it is something that the airlines couldn't avoid. But what gets me in the media is why don't people have their cell phones with them while they are in line and call for hotel rooms while they are in line waiting for plane tickets that way?? That is what I would do, or I would call family members and have them call for hotel rooms for me. Opinions??

we are a group of 5-10 students, interested in touring whole india in april. (is that a good time?)
Our budget and time is limited (yup we r students), say about 2 weeks and only a few hundred dollars.
We are aware that india is really really really big and 2 weeks time is not sufficient to see all of it... but we wanted to try anyways...
we don't want to miss shimla, goa, beaches n yup definitely taj mahal... n forts n camels of rajasthan, darjeeling... some bit of camping...
Can anybody help us out?
I checked out some sites. They only got east/south/west/north/central package tours. nothing like all of it in 14 days...
Any bright ideas, suggestions?
