We are from California- budget is open within reason (no around the world cruises).

It all depends on your budget. If you live in the West Coast, I would say go an explore Oregon. If you live in the East Coast, give a chance to North Carolina. A trip around both states will give your family the chance to explore the nature and the beauty of small cities like Portland, or Charlotte.

Alaska. But you may not want to leave! It's a wonderful place to raise kids. I came here in 1983 and stayed.

You could go to Hot Springs, AR. They have a lot of kid friendly things to do and the night life isn't bad either!
