I would like to go travelling / Back-Packing to South America, Japan as well as maybe Thailand.

What do I do?
Where and how do I start out?
What do I have to plan for etc?
How do I apply for a travelling visa?

Also, if anyone has any useful websites please let me know.

Cheers friends.

I am planning on flying to Orlando and intend on bringing a bottle of rum as a present (Its not something that I have found in "any old liquor store") Is it o.k. to pack the bottle in my suitcase (not my carry-on). And what other items can I not pack in my suitcase?

I just got my passport in the mail, and I look awful. I'd rather not have it for the next ten years.
