I am planning on flying to Orlando and intend on bringing a bottle of rum as a present (Its not something that I have found in "any old liquor store") Is it o.k. to pack the bottle in my suitcase (not my carry-on). And what other items can I not pack in my suitcase?

We recently made the mistake of bringing 2 bottles of tequila home from Mexico in my husband's backpack and they confiscated it, however they said had it been in the checked luggage it would have been OK.

I dont know this for a fact but
alcohol is flamable
and in this day and time
anything can be used for a bomb
including a molitov cocktail
you will be losing the bottle at the inspection
NOW
why dont you hear about this in advance?
think boy:
when they confiscate they dont give back anythang right?
they gonna help you obey the law and TAKE dat bottle and properly dispose of it heehee :)

i'm no longer particular about Canada, yet in the U. S., sure. and also you may take foodstuff on your carry-on--see you later because that's not in liquid form. Even liquid-like issues, like yogurt, pudding, or apple sauce, at the prompt are not allowed. yet i have presented all forms of issues in my carry-ons on relatives flights, including chips, granola bars, nuts, total oranges, and shrink up vegetables. Tea, you may take everywhere too.

As long as it does not bump you over the weight limit for that bag. Wrap well or your clothes will end up smelling like rum.

It's not recommended, but not forbidden. Be sure it's in a very well-protected and waterproof case.
