You hear on the news about how much french people hate immigrant muslims and even french muslims. Is that true? Would I be discriminated against in France for being a muslim?

Next month in September or by the end of August, we are going from Berlin (germany) to Paris ( france). Does anyone help me out in getting a cheap ticket for the journey - by train, flight or bus? Kindly let me know as soon as possible.

I'm going to Paris next month for the 1st time, and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers, where to go, what to avoid, etc. I'm going with a friend and we're 26. I know about the Lourve and all the big places. I'm more interested in places that are local favorites, or maybe you took a trip there and found a great little place? I'd like to go out at night to bars and clubs that are American friendly, just have a good time! I will be there for 7 days in the end of August. I really would appreciate any help. It doesn't need to be a bar or club, just a fun place you know of! Traveling tips would be nice as well. Also, does anyone know how long it takes to get to London from Paris via the Eurorail? I'm thinking of a day trip or an overnight, but I'm not sure if it's worth it timewise. Thanks!

All you know about France is Paris... aaaah Paris !... Tour Effel, Louvres, Champs Elysées etc...
But you know that Paris is the city the most visited in the world, and parisians don't mind if you are american, japoneese, russian, or African.. You are a tourist that's all.
Just know that we remember you loose a lot of soldiers during 2nd world war to free our country ok ? And visit the SO of France near Spain.. it's wonderful you'll see..

I would be reaching CDG airport at 9 am and take a shower. Is there any shower facility near airport?

I'm traveling to Paris soon. Thinking of staying at a hotel near Gare de Lyon. There is apparently a metro station near the hotel, but I'd sure like to hear more specifically what I'm looking for at the airport, what metro station to get off at, and about what it will cost. I don't speak much French, read even less.

A few more questions while I'm on a roll. Does anyone have thoughts on whether this (Gare de Lyon) is a "good" area, i.e. safe, reasonably close to city sights, local culture/things to see/places to eat, etc.

Lastly, I've read about multi day passes for public transportation. Would my airport-hotel trip be on such transportation -- if so, where do you get the multi-day pass, airport? online? Anyone know where I can find the costs (3 day).

Too wordy and rambling I know, but thanks for any input you can provide.

Mike

I arrive in August (high season) at around 5pm...I heard that the roads can be totally jammed and maybe there are other *affordable* ways to get to St. Tropez (boat??). If you have an answer, please provide a link to the recommended solution. Merci/Thank you!

I have what looks like a wine bottle cork-sized seal made out of lead. It has a stamp on both flat sides. On one side it reads ADMINISTRATION DES DOUANES (CUSTOMS ADMINISTRATION) and ORD. DU 8 JANVIER 1817 (??? on January 8 1817) On the opposite side it has a crest / shield with 3 fleur de lis and the words: ?????? DE PARIS (?????? of/from Paris)
1. What does the abbreviation ORD. mean?
2. What could this item be? It really looks to be some kind of seal that is round like a cork in a wine bottle, but is very short...partly from the press of the stamp on both flat sides.
The 6 letter word that I cannot quite make out looks like: PEREA?
The first letter may not be a P and the 2nd E may not be an E.
The last letter is not legible. Thanks for your help!
