if it has to be another country then London or Brussels would be high on my list... some swiss cities are also available by TGV... but Orleans or Chartre or Epernay or Reims are good day trips too.

Brussels may be the capital of Belgium and may be the key seat of the Belgian Royal Family and, also the capital of the European Union and if you wish to know after that it this is the place hotelbye . Brussels is an amazingly little, easy-going, and human-sized city for all its importance. Unlike anthers town making use of their hordes of tourists, Brussels is Belgium's principal economic and academic centre, which provides the town a more workaday feel than different towns. Here, in Brussels, if you'd decide to see, you will receive a proper experience for Belgian life, particularly its wonderful cafe and café culture. Though Brussels may possibly not need the celebrity attractions of different Belgian towns, the capital has plenty of to help keep guests occupied for a few days with a clutch of world-class museums and art galleries, as well as quirkier sights like the Atomium, and some amazing remnants of old structure in the old community quarter.

I travelled with a friend to the mountains of Catalonia and the Basque Countries. We took an overnight sleeper car from Gare Austerlitz. It was affordable and we arrived well rested to Barcelona. We took the night train from Irun in Guipuzkoa to return to Paris.
I suggest you do this if it's summer or fall, since you'll enjoy the cooler climate of the mountains. Alternately, you could go to the Swiss Alps. Another pleasant day trip could be to the dunes of Normandy or Brittany.

You have two easy choices...
London
By Eurostar train via the channel tunnel, you can go in the morning and return on the last train in the evening..
Check out tickets in internet
www.eurostar.com
The train station is
LA GARE DU NORD
Your other choice is to visit
Brussels
you have several trains to Brussels
also leaving from La Gare du Nord.
it takes aprox. 1 hour and a half.
go to www.sncf.com
Then you have many cities worth visiting in France... My favourite is Lyon
Take the TGV train (2h hours) from LA GARE DE LYON) to LYON (Frances 3rd. largest city... It has many things worth visiting... The Vieux Saint Jean, old quarter of the city with many medieval buildings, Fourvière Hill, with its Basilica, and the Roman amphitheaters and gallo-roman museum.
The center of Town (La presqu'ile) with the City Hall, Opera house, Beaux Arts Museum, Place Bellecour, the largest plaza in France, and all the interesting streets.
Then across the Rhône river, there is the Parc de la Tête d'Or, and the Gare des Brotteaux now turned into an esposition hall. And La Part Dieu enormous shopping mall, with the central train station attached to it... This city is definitely worth seeing.
Then around Paris you have many things also worth visiting
Chartres with its magnificent cathedral, (by local train)
Versailles & Fontainebleau on the outskirts of Paris, Reims (champagne country) also by train.
Your 2 weeks will go by in a flash!
Hope you enjoy your trip!
