i will b driving over so need a cottage,with things to do ,walking distance,nice places to eat

If you don't mind a longish drive the Ardeche is best. It is warm and sunny, great countryside and loads of things for kids and families, like canoeing, horseriding, biking etc.

Is frace a new country? If you're referring to France, then St Raphael in the South is ideal.

I don't know if there's a cottage there and the other features you'd like but Lille, it's really right there as soon as you enter France through the Eurotunnel. I love the place.

Go to Paris, there's everything there.
You can also go to Disney World Paris, Park Asterix etc..

the kids would enjoy euro disney an the cheapest there is the santa fa very worth while
