I will be travelling across western Europe for about a month and a half with two of my buddies soon (in may). I am 18. What would be the best way to carry my money? Should I use a debit card, credit card, cash? I am afraid to carry cash around all the time, because losing it early would mean practical death. If I should use a certain method, what do I need to do for that? For example, if the best choice is debit card, how do I set one of those up?

I'll be flying into Dublin, Ireland in mid May, and want to spend a month in Europe if at all possible, visiting the UK, the south of France, Tuscany, and parts of Greece. Is it possible to do this with only $1000? If not, how much time is reasonable for this amount of money?

I said to my friend the other day that Croatia was in Southern Europe. I have looked up wikipedia and it is in Southern Europe but my friend called me an idiot and said that everyone knows that Croatian is an east european country, if you mention it to anyone they automatically think east european. Is that correct?

I am an EU citizen (greek). My greek passpost has expired and renewing it would take a lot of time and money. Does anyone know if I can use instead my driving license as identification to travel within Europe?

Thanks
