I need some restaurants that only the locals know about! I want the real flavour of Italy!

I have never been before , but i would like to visit Rome, Milan, Florence and small villages in between.

I can only help out, but only with the city of Modena. I like Belvedere (or simply Danilo), La Tramontana di Gianni, and La Taverna dei Servi. These trattoria's serve traditional Modenese cuisine. Are you interested in a particular city?

If you want to go to where the locals are go to Trastevere, across the river. It's funky, yet local and there are some great places to eat. It's got both the young artsy crowd and the old neighborhood feeling to it.
