Depends on wer u r?Coz no point spending too much time on a train ride.If ure from the UK , Paris wud be ideal.U can visit the Louvre, picnic at the park at the Invalides, take a romatic walk along the canal wer the Notre Dame is.Or even grab a night show at the Moulin Rouge. That shud cover u over the weekend.Or shoppin at the famous Champs-Elyssee area.Take a ride upto the Eiffel Tower. If u dont have much time, best just travel to a neighbouring country. The train ride into Prague from Germany wud be nice,as u get to see the old houses along the way and the famous cliffs juz before u enter Prague city.So if ur time is limited, just pick a country thats close by if u wanna travel via train.Google online wat neighbouring country interests u the most.Have fun!

You could go from anywhere to anywhere in Europe by train. I highly recommend the book "Europe For Dummies" the tittle aside, it is really good and can help you with weekend itineraries for seeing the sights of European cities. If you want my opinion, head to Paris and do nothing but walk around in the Louvre Museum for two days, you'll still only see a fraction of the works.
