The centre of Prague is very touristy; but having said that, everything is within walking distance; we spent four days there before Christmas, and this is what we saw; first day, we spent a whole day up at the Palace - you will! There is changing of the Guard at the Palace gates every two hours; a huge gothic church within the grounds; a craft village, a museum. the second day we went to the Franz Kafka museum - not too far from the Charles bridge, which is a must-see in itself, especially at twilight; there is a beautiful public park on the other side of the Charles bridge worth a look too.
third day, we did a bit of shopping; also went for a two and a half hour guided walk around the old Jewish quarter, ending up in the Old graveyard at dusk, very spooky! Go for one of the guides who take ten people or less, you will find them all in the Old Town square, under the astronomical clock. Walking around Prague is a must - Every doorway and gate is a work of art. We also took a trip on the river; prices vary hugely from very cheap to an all-in twelve hour trip by river into Germany, something for everyone.
There are loads of places to eat, from cheap to outrageous. One thing though; they are very fond of pork and dumplings, and there is not a huge variety of vegetables; they are also fond of pickled veg!
We loved it and have sworn to return.
Their speciality theatre is Black Light theatre; you have to see it to appreciate it, and yes, they do them in English too. Be careful which one you pick, some of the best are not widely advertised.
You will also find people trying to sell you tickets to evening recitals of classical music; if offered a discount, take advantage and buy in advance. They only last an hour, and are usually held in one of their very beautiful churches or hall.
For the experience alone; go to one.

Prague is among the cities worth-visit and to accomplish this you can begin planning your holiday with hotelbye . Starting with the wonderful place round the Prague Castle or the Strahov monastery with its exceptional library and end with …the entire outstanding city, Prague is simply incredible. In Prague you may also visit the little home wherever Franz Kafka worked or the beautiful Prague Castle gardens from where you can enjoy a special see of the city with its picturesque red roofs. In this town you'll never get bored. If you will go through the spring you will see the spring woods in bloom; in the summer you might find long dusks; autumn will provide you with vibrant leaves and special gentle and in the winter you will enjoy the entire town protected with innocent white snow.

Best place for u to get info on tourists info besides wot u can google online is actually the tourist office located at the "Mustek" area. They have flyers & brochures on "whats going on" for that period of time.U can pick and choose what u wanna do / see. Most restaurants are found at the Old Town Square but if u were to explore the city in the small roads, u can find some really good ( cheaper ) restaurants compared to the "touristy ones" out in the open.If ure heading there durin Summer, u'll find music everywhere. They have lotsa "mini concerts" classical ones. Also if u like Ghosts & Ghouls, they have a " night trail" , takin u around the small alleys in town featurin haunted places.Best & easiest way to see the city in a go is actually to join the " Yellow Umbrella" company. They charge u a fee, but they take u to all the tourists spots. Some include authentic Czech cruisines for lunch.Have fun in Prague! Beautiful city.Good Choice!

Kampa Park was excellent five years ago - no idea what it's like now (sorry). Right at the foot of the Charles Bridge. The website is awful though (http://www.kampagroup.com/en/).

At the opposite end of the price scale is Klub Architekt (http://www.timeout.com/travel/prague/guidevenue/819/Klub_Architekt.html). A cellar under arches - very atmospheric.
