Take the train to Bari or Brindisi and get the ferry to Patra, but that takes way too much time. It's best to fly, I think, probably olympic airways or alitalia.

Go to this link - www.aegeanair.com - they have flights to Rome daily now. Price is in Euros so have your converter ready. One way should probably cost about $100 depending on day/time/advance notice, bit they add on fuel surcharge. There is also another website I used called www.europebyair.com that is a flat $99 between European destinations. When you go to the website, click on the "maps" tab. It brings up a map of all European cities it serves. Click on that city to determine if there is a direct or connecting flight. Good luck!
