i feel so strongly about this. i know this is my opinion but does anyone else out there feel as if europe is so much better than the USA. i just love europe so much, everyone says usa is free (i know it technically is) but europe seems so much more free! no drinking age, cool people everywhere, crazy night life, i just love it over there, i recently got back from europe and i miss it so much. everything here in the US is so blah and boring compared to over there. gosh i can't wait until i am out of highschool and through college so that i can move back! I LOVE EUROPE... anyone else feel like this??

I'm planning a five-night stay in Munich late Aug./early Sept.

Any recommendations for a hotel that you've stayed at? Any to definitely avoid?

Thanks.

I have an unlocked quad band GSM phone and pay monthly for AT&T Wireless. I'll be travelling in the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Italy, and Germany for several weeks soon. Am I better off using AT&T's $.99/minute World Traveler international roaming in those countries, or is there a pre-paid SIM option that would be cheaper? I'd be particularly interested in a prepaid SIM that allowed me unlimited data in those countries (EDGE).

Rick Steves recommends stopping in Brussels on the way to Amsterdam, but he's a bit vague about technicalities. Can I buy a Eurostar ticket, leave London and arrive in Brussels, spend the day and night, and the next morning continue my trip to Amsterdam on the same ticket? Or will it only let me stop in Brussels for a few hours and I have to go to Amsterdam the same day?

My twin and I were planning a Europe tour after our first year in university. What cities would you recommend are must-visits? We're into pretty much everything - historical monuments, sports attractions, etc. And if you could draw from your own experiences in Europe (advice, suggestions) That would be awesome!

My husband and I are going to need a sleeper train from Paris to Rome. Then, another from Rome to Frankfurt.

Is there a separate reservation fee? And a separate sleeper car cost? What should I expect to pay for this?

Somewhere where the cost of living is not too expensive, there are more English speaking people, and generally has friendly citizens.

I am going to Paris as a tourist tomorrow for only 7 days. Is it worth taking the train that goes under the English Channel to London for a day? How long does it take?

I am taking the train to Prague. Could anyone also advise me as to:

Should I book the train ticket in advance, over the internet?
Should I bother to spend the extra, and go first class?

Any thoughts, or experience with these questions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I have 6 hours in Vienna, Austria and I have no clue what I can do for so long in the airport so maybe a quick visit outside the airport? How far are things? Doesn't even need to be the city center, just somewhere to look and wonder about in. Most importantly.... how long does it take to get there?

Planes and trains are running $200+ RT. Looking for around $130 RT (the distance is equal to NY to DC!) This is in November.
