What are the steps I would need to take in order to be able to live and work in Europe for an extended amount of time? (more than 6 months). I understand that each country has different regulations, but I would just like to know the basics on how to get started with my move!

Hey guys

I'm headed to Europe in November, starting in Germany and hoping to hit Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Ireland and the UK, Poland and possibly Scandanavia (scanrail).

I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around the Eurail pass system. I'm under 26 so I qualify for the youth pass, and I'll be there for at least 4 weeks, hopefully up to 6. I feel like the Global is too many (18 countries) so maybe I should just go with the Select and just eat the cost of a ticket to go into Poland one day?...

Anyway, does anyone have any experience with the system and how it works? Any suggestion as to what arrangement worked for you?

Thanks!!

I want to do some hiking. I'm staying in a place called Soldeu, after spending a few days in Toulouse. I speak reasonable French. I probably won't rent a car. Anything to look out for?

My sister and I are going to Europe next summer to visity Italy, Spain or Greece and Germany. Is it better to fly into and out of the same city, or into and out of two different cities? What's the deal with Eurorail passes? Someone has told me that the trains aren't that convenient and we should fly between cities in Europe.

Thanks. I appreciate any practical travel advice.

I have already booked a flight that arrives into Budapest and then leaves from Warsaw 13 days later. I have purchased a Railpass that allows me to travel within Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Czech Republic, and Poland.

My current plan is the following:
3 nights in Budapest
1 night in Bratslavia (I don't know much about Slovakia, is this worth a stopover?)
2 nights in Vienna
3 nights in Prague
2 nights in Krakow (with a day trip to Auschwitz)
1 night in Warsaw

Anyone who has been to any of the cities, please let me know if you think I am spending too much or too little time in each city.

Thanks!
