Off to Amsterdam end of week ..... any suggestions on what to do in a weekend. Apart from the obvious.?

We want a bit of sight seeing but don't do art ..... cruise perhaps ?? Anyone been to the Heineken Beer Experience ?? Best place for food and drink ??

Amsterdam also has museums that do not show art, from glasses to pianola's, and from history to science.

There are restaurants, small and bigger, all through town, but many are located near Leidse Plein and an other group is on Zeedijk.

As almost each street corner has a traditional 'kroeg' (pub would be the nearest translation) finding a place to drink would not be hard. Fashionable ones are near Leidseplein and Rembrandsplein.

the damrak is a street that's just near central station, this will put you in the middle of Amsterdam. things you have to do. go to the Ann frank house, spend some time on a canal boat, i know you said you dint like art but the Vincent van gogh museum is great, just remember these are pieces of art that you can tell your grand kids about! very beautiful even for non art lovers. eat some pancakes. check out the red light district. there are tons of places to shop all over Amsterdam the have a shopping district that you may want to walk around for a day or two! the people are great i loved my trip and will be going back soon. i was there for a week and needed more time to see it all.
