I am going to Paris as a tourist tomorrow for only 7 days. Is it worth taking the train that goes under the English Channel to London for a day? How long does it take?

It is not worth it.
It will take a while, with check-in minimum 30 minutes before you leave.
You will have about half a day left by the time you have done your traveling.
The train ride is comfortable, but you do not see a lot of the countryside as the train track has sound proof dikes on both sides.
And London is much to big to see all in one day.
You will enjoy a day in the French countryside much more than rushing to London.
On top of that comes the cost. These tickets are priced on base of how many seats are remaining and they get more expensive if there are less left.
So you will have less than a week before you need the ticket. Big bucks!!!

It is like asking about staying in LA for a week and traveling to SF for a day.
Are you willing to loose one day of a short stay to go to a place where you will not see anything because of lack of time?
