It's just the two of us going and we are on a budget. Any ideas for savings would also be appreciated.

I will be travelling solo and I don't know a lick of Spanish. I want to stay where some major attractions/spots/tours are in walking distance of a hotel and near any major airport.

Did you know that beginning December 31st, 2006 everyone entering or leaving the US will need a passport to visit Puerto Rico?
If you are in the states and visit PR a lot and don't have one, you better start working on it.
If you are in PR and visit the states often, you will need it too.

I've wanted to visit Puerto Rico for a while now. Unfortunately, I was not able to go this summer, so my cousin and I wanna go next year. I've seen photos and have totally fallen in love. Everyone who has been there tells me it's the most beautiful island they've ever seen. I went to St. Thomas and St. Maarten last week and both islands were beautiful, in my opinion. Is Puerto Rico that much more beautiful, or is it about the same?

Also, does anyone have any travel tips for us? We'll probably go by ourselves, unless we decide to bring friends. I'll be 19 next year and she'll be 18, if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

I'm traveling with small 1.5 year old so I'm limited to how far I can travel and what I can do: Eateries, Beaches, Zoos, Auariums, festivals, carnivals, etc.

I'd love to find a nice place to eat and go to with my elderly parents, as well. I know the language, so that helps with getting around.

Hi, Im wondering if anyone here has been to (or knows of) a good amusement park in Puerto Rico. I heard about Las Cascadas, but I would like something near the eastern side of the island.

Thanks for looking!

I am considering moving to Puerto Rico in the future. I have visited there twice, loved it, and i had no problems communicating with the locals, as most of them seemed bilingual. I know some basic Spanish such as, "Como Estas?" "Muchos Gracias" "Por Favor" etc. But is speaking Spanish fluently a requirement to get hired at a job? I have experience in the restaurant business as a chef and my "kitchen spanish" is decent. I was planning on taking Spanish classes to become more fluent once i moved there. Any info would be helpful.

I am considering living Puerto Rico for a year, just to become more fluent with my spanish and to enjoy a different way of life. What are some of the things that I need to consider and know about before I take this adventure? I am a hair stylist, so what are the regulations about working there, and can my Tn cosmetology license be transfered or is that necessary?
