If you are older, like me, it is fairly simple to learn the words, it's the dialect or HOW they say things. We have many words to describe any particular thing, Where in spanish, they use the same word to describe many things. So it's how they say the word so that other spanish people know what they are talking about.

i was rasied to speak a little spanish, so my answer is a little biased

however, i would fairly say spanish is pretty easy to learn, because it derives from Latin, roots of english also

so you may find that Spanish is pretty easy compared to other languages, because some words sound the same, have the same roots, "feel" the same, or even are the same

Not anymore difficult than learning any other language. It's the effort you put into learning the language.

i think the hardest thing for English speakers is the grammer. There's so many different tenses...presente perfecto, imperfecto,preterito, futuro perfecto, etc.

But if you go to Puerto Rico, Argentina, Spain, or any other Spanish speaking country for a long time, you'll be able to learn it and be able to speak it in about 4 months

I'd say that strongly depends on your mother-tongue;

If it is...

French: quite easily because related

English: Average

Slavic Language: don't know but I guess that would be rather difficult because they are rather unrelated

...Latin is very helpful if you want to learn any romano-language
