I'd be leaving India for Singapore (an internship - am being given 'Training Visit Pass') for around 4 months. During that time i'd like to visit Malaysia/Thailand. Now, do I need to get the Visa from India, or would I manage to get it at S'pore itself (please outline the procedure in the best case)? Wht will be the cost for the same in both the cases?

Between 1966 and 1970 I lived in that wonderful place that is Singapore. I spent 2 years in 29 Branksome Road, Jalan Katong and 2 years in 14 Jalan Tari Dolang, Jalan Kayu. Just out of idle curiosity, can anybody tell me are they still standing, or has progress swept them away? chris_mcburney@yahoo.com

I will stay in Singapore for less than 3 months; it is a short business assignment. Since withdrawing cash may incur a charge, I think of opening a short-term bank account there . Do you think it is possible? Is there any other option?

My sincere thanks,
