1) An old reowned stall in Bugis area. I recalled it is at Purvis street and the stall is called YI QUN (Authentic Hainan chicken rice stall). Try it, if not you can ask around people over there, most of them will know coz it is very FAMOUS!!!!
Their Hainan chicken is simply smooth & delicious!!!! Yummy! You MUST really try it as it is the Authentic HAINAN chicken way of cooking! It is really popular and famous, so don't miss it! Anyway, you'll be really surprised that the price is REALLY affordable!
2) Also, try ChatterBox located in the Mandarin Hotel in Orchard. They've nice chicken rice but unsure if it is the authentic hainan chicken rice! But the price is expensive as it is made by the local hotel's chefs. A plate of chicken rice wld cost $10 & above.
3) Another Hainan Chicken Rice stall will be at Sembawang area. Just on the same stretch where Sembawang shopping centre is. You just need to drive further down the road & you shd see the shop name.

Too add, i'd also recommend the other 2 traditional hainanese eateries besides Jing Jing on Purvis street, the old air conditioned one(yue4 qun2) as well as the one opposite but yue4 qun2 is damn ex, so i usually go to the one opposite. U can also try the stall at the Bedok Reservoir Road market, the blocks there are around the 600s. Its quite famous around the area, u just need to ask around. These are the best i've eaten besides my grandfathers. =)
Why pay 20 bucks for Chatterbox when u can find equally delicious, if not better chicken rice for one tenth of the price?

Chatterbox IMO, is over rated and over priced, but it's the hotel environment that was seen as hip and happening...
But good chicken rice, as one of the signature dish of SG, can be found all over the country, ... and my fav are:
1) Boon Tong Kee (BTK) - Balestier Road or River Valley Road (The BEST, a little pricey thou not as much as Chatterbox, is well worth it)
2) Peng Kee - Opposite BTK @ Balestier Road (a close second). If BTK is overcrowed, rather than be frustrated, just cross the street and head for Peng Kee. It's also cheaper than BTK.
3) Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice - Maxwell Market Food Centre. This hawker centre also had many good food beside chkn rice.
4) Jing Jing / Swee Kee - these two equally good hainanese chicken rice stores are located around seah street or purvis street (old shop houses near Raffles Hotel).
5) Pow Sing Hainanese Chicken Rice - Serangoon Garden Way. Good variety of other dishes as well.

My mum is a member of the hotel Meritus Mandrin which is located in orchard. The chicken rice in chatterbox(level 1) is superb! Must try it!

I wouldnt say chatterbox...i would definitely recommend
Hougang ave 1 market. An old man and his wife there. Their chicken rice is fantastic, pluc they will give u hot soup too.
Single plate cost 2.00 SGD only. and the serving is alot.
