Other - Asia Pacific

I'm just wondering if anyone had been there... or here, well, I live here, So... yeah. The economy needs help, we need more people to come here. Government's drowning and I don't want Saipan to fail. The island is really nice, the sites are gorgeous, ze scuba... love it, it's amazing. Limited pollution, I tell you that. Traffic's not bad. Food here is great. The shopping is great, too. You'll see if you just come here, at least for vacation.

Guys, Im in the process of planning my first trip to Asia. I cant decide on whether to go to Hong Kong, or Bangkok. Ive wanted to go to Hong Kong to see that incredible skyline, but I know that Hong Kong can be pretty expensive.

I would love to explore Bangkok also, and I know that the exchange rate would be pretty favorable to me.

Do you guys have any opinion on which is a better first time place to visit?

Would anyone be able to recommend a long stay, monthly hotel room/apartment/ service apartment. Must that its own private internet connection(preferably broadband), hot water shower and toilet. For around $200 US Dollars a month.

I intent to stay for 4to6 months in an Asian-Pacific country.

I've been researching and trying to find out if such a career exists, so if anyone can give me suggestions/recommendations/perspectives/experience, anything related to such a career, would be so appreciated:

The Career must:
-require extensive travel in all Asia (especially Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand)
-deals with food or culture
-must only deal with Asian region
-allow me to possibly live somewhere in Asia

I'm an international relations, geography, asian studies major with expertise in Asia and Latin America...so is there a career that fit those criterias?
