I acutally don't think that its necessarily dearer to go to Thailand during specific times. I went last year in November (hot weather) and June (rainy season) the year before and found no difference. The key to holidaying in Thailand is not to book things in advance. You negotiate your accomodation, etc the minute you get off the plane as they are all waiting for the people to get off. They have excellent customer service where they drive you to the hotel and show you around and you can negotaite the price. We even went to one and it was dodgy so the guy drove us around to all the different hotels/bungalows FOC until we are happy. Because they work on the barter system there nothing is really expensive... well not that I have ever found.

We are coming in to hot season now... so tourist season is just about over.. the only thing that will be cheaper will be hotels, maybe about 30% on average.. all else should be about the same.. November begins tourist season and that is when prices go up... good luck

Well, you can wait for the US dollars to appreciate sharply against the baht and make a trip there. The baht has been strengthening against the US dollars since Nov last year. So pray for reversal.

if you book through reliable websites, you would never have to go dearer

for hotels, www.asiarooms.com

for flights, Yahoo Travelocity: go for Flight + Hotel plans - they come a lot cheaper

I went in December-end (New year) and think that was Peak season so this question is baseless
