My roommates and I witnessed the strangest event this past weekend. At about 3 am 5 or 6 white unmarked planes started circling in the sky above our apartment. They would come in with ABOSOLUTLEY NO lights on and flew in circles with criss crossing paths in complete darkness. Then when they would head in the direction of the airport they turned the lights back on. This continued non-stop until the sun came up. Does anyone have any clue as to what this could have been?

This happened over a major city in the US. We were very sober when this happend.

These planes were fairly small..they had propellers and seemed to be about the size of a private plane or crop duster. Also, we are not particularily close to any airports. It was a very clear night and these planes were flying quite low.
I'm just leting yall know exactly what I saw.

Many travels are decided in last two weeks before travel...especially in family emergencies or death. Even vacations cannot be planned ahead of time with two spouses working and kids in schols etc.
Airlines rip you off unless you have booked flights 3-4 weeks in advance. It is going to cost them the same to fy me if I book ticket today ot on August 31st for a travel on September st. So why do they rip people off? Is that not price gouging. No other industry does that. FTD cannot tell you for example that if you send flowers tomorrow, it would cost you three times as much as if you send it in a month.
You would think that an industry bailed out big time after 9/11 would be more customer friendly to tax payers whose money it took to bail them out.
Why doen't the congress do anything to regulate their practices?

I work in aviation and I am quite aware that the crew are very professional. My dislike for flying stems from the sensations such as when the a/c banks and descends.

I'm traveling to another state within the US soon. If I can, carry-on or luggage?

I'm also curious about eyelash curlers. The TSA Prohibited list says they can be brought carry-on and checked. They are hamless enough, but you never know these days.

I dont want my boss to see the liquor when they check my bag at security. I am over 21, and it will be in my carry on bag (one of two bags...not my laptop bag, but my bag with clothes).

Should I take a bottle? Or should I fill up a 20oz water bottle and carry it on by hand? It's clear rum..and 20oz is plenty for me.

I have booked up a flight to the USA then realised my passport is out of date and needs renewing. I am concerned that when it comes to presenting my new passport at the airport, it wont be valid? If any one can help, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

On the US airways website (thats the airline i'm flying with) it says that the weight limit is 50lbs and I can bring up to three bags without additional charge. Is that 50lbs per bag (i.e. 150lbs in total) or 50lbs in total between the three bags? HELP. I am flying on Wednesday!

I'm cashing in some air miles and I'd like to book some flights ( Air France/Skyteam). They say a business class ticket the USA from anywhere in Europe costs 8000 air miles. But I'd need to book connecting flights ( Aberdeen to Charles de Gaulle) so does this count as a SEPARATE flight , for which I would need to use more air miles? Their web site is unclear on this issue.

-Can originate from any airport (Newark, JFK, Laguardia)
-Shortest amount of physical time flown - likely would encompass fewest connections but not necessarily.
