I'm cashing in some air miles and I'd like to book some flights ( Air France/Skyteam). They say a business class ticket the USA from anywhere in Europe costs 8000 air miles. But I'd need to book connecting flights ( Aberdeen to Charles de Gaulle) so does this count as a SEPARATE flight , for which I would need to use more air miles? Their web site is unclear on this issue.

If you can get it on a skyteam alliance carrier it's included. Often though, the little legs are not available for free when the larger ones are, so you may have to pay for that leg, but you shouldn't have to spend more miles. Call them to verify, or just try booking ing, you'll see soon enough.

I would call and ask but I doubt it. Usually the flight booking is from starting terminal to final destination. Thus if you start in Aberdeen flying to the USA someplace your final in the USA is the ending terminal and how your points are used.

I have flown in the USA using points many times and that is how it works. I book from one terminal to my final. How they get me there is the airlines problem.

Call the airlines customer service number and ask for assistance. In my experience every airline is different regarding their mileage plans.
