When the plane goes through different pockets of air in the sky and it goes up and down. You have to hold on to your tray if it's major turbulance (and maybe get out the barf bag). Generally it's very mild and much less than any ride in the amusement park.

turbulence is the result of wind gusts hitting the aircraft at different directions if it is a windy day it will probably be turbulent if you were flying.

scary thats for sure lol...its when the air plane is flying and it hits unexpected things (storms, wind, change in elevation) and it causes the plan to make a lot of motion like shaking or feeling like ur dropping up and down alot..its not very dangerous just scary if ur on the plane, they might ask that all passengers remained seated and give u instructions.

turbulence --- it's like experiencing an earthquake 30,000 feet in the air! Wear your seatbelt, and PRAY!
