The funeral home will make all the arrangements for you, but human remains are shipped as cargo. Airlines will only accept the remains from a funeral home. The body will have to be secured in a coffin or box that is sealed, be accompanied with a certified death certificate and be embalmed. Cremated remains are accepted as well. Airlines have seperate reservations lines for transporting remains. Delta's is called Delta Cares, you can contact them for information on any Sky Team Airlines.

I worked in International Cargo for a major US airline and saw this every day. For International shipping you are looking at several thousand $$$ US. Shoot me an e-mail with the city you need to ship from and the city you are shipping to and I will help you get in contact with the right airline. Again, your mortician should make these arrangements for you, but I can get you in contact with the right people to answer your questions.

**Bodies are shipped on commercial airlines every day. YES you can ship them on ANY commercial airline, they will be shipped as Cargo. Again, the funeral home will make all the arrangements for you. Airlines and cargo companies will not accept human remains, or any cargo, from an unknown shipper, the funeral homes have accounts set up with the airlines, they will take care of everything for you. Like I said, I dealt with this every day and shipping remains is a constant and on going process**

You cannot transport the body in a commercial airline. If you contact a local cargo agency, they should be able to tell you the cost involved and the documents required. One of the mandatory document is the Death Certificate.

To transport human remains as cargo is very expensive. 120 kgs are fixed for the coffin.

So it depends the cost of Kg from Destination-origin X 120 kgs
