I am going travelling to Australia in June (From UK) I will be going alone (Might have someone to come with but not guaranteed). I have spoken to people who have done this and they said they were glad they went alone best time of their lives etc, this gave me the boost I needed. The problem is now I keep hearing all these bad reports about the Australian people saying they are abrupt and can be very nasty if you don't know things etc

I have also read this on answers, this is really putting me off I want to try and work while I travel in bars or whatever I can get but if people are just going to be rude and abrupt is it worth it

I know you will meet people like it but coming from a nation that is polite and accommodating plus I am very mild manured I'm a little worried!!

Can you please reassure me that the reports I'm hearing are wrong (I do think it strange that the most laid back county on Earth can have people saying this about them!!)

now refers to all police officers as "cops" on radio, television, internet news and in newspapers?
Is this appropriate as I have always considered the word "cops" to be slang and disrespectful?

I want to do a summer home stay with a family in Greece for about 6 to 8 weeks! What should I expect when living with them? I am from the U.S. and I want to know the differnt things they do. What they eat, what they do for fun, how they interact with people...ect. Stuff like that! Please tell me what I should expect going into this amazing experience!
