My friend is very nervous about driving on the "wrong" side of the road - and she is planning on using public transport. She plans to include a trip to SeaWorld.
I would have said it was impossible, but perhaps you know more than I do.

She's staying in a Disney Hotel - I think it is Orleans, although I am not sure.

I think the name of the hotel is Orleans. No, she's not new to driving, but it is hard to reassure someone who's never done it before.
Thanks guys for yur help.

As others have stated, you don't need a car to get around the park, they have water taxis, shuttles...no problems. If the hotel doesn't offer shuttle service from the airport.....Mears transportation is by far the cleanest, safest, most reliable service in town. You can call ahead and they will be waiting at the airport. I would also use them over the bus system to go to SeaWorld. Disney has no transportation to SeaWorld since it's not owned by them.

The in park transportation system at Disney is excellent. For SeaWorld, yes check to see if a shuttle is available (although I wonder if Disney would allow that since it's taking people and their money to another park) but a taxi is a great way to get around Orlando.

You can get around Orlando and district on the public transport system but it is so much easier by car. The Americans are a lot more tolerant than us British on the roads. I drove in Florida this summer, never having driven an automatic before. I found it much easier than driving in the UK. All the roads are fairly straight and are much wider than ours, on the freeways you drive in which ever lane you want. All the big attractions are well signposted and everywhere has loads of parking also there are no roundabouts. Around Orlando they are used to tourists not knowing where they are going at first. She will waste so much of her time travelling on public transport so tell your friend to hire a car, it's really easy.

Disney World is the one in Florida. Disneyland is in California. Disney World is easy to get around if you are staying on the property. They have a good shuttle system and the buses run about every 15 minutes so there is no long wait. Disney always takes very good care of their guests.

Since she's staying at a Disney Hotel (Port Orleans is our favorite!) She will be eligible for their Magical Express service, as long as she makes the advance arrangements. This will provide her transportation to and from the airport. (Assuming she's flying into MCO). Resorts guests are eligible to use their transporttation to get to and from Disney parks and downtown disney.
She will have to find a different way of getting to Sea World- it might be worth it just to get a cab instead.

Disney has a water taxi between hotels and Disney, and bikes, electric motor chairs, Disney buses, and taxis. But it's bigger than most think, and more expensive. Sea World is not far, but I think you would have to take a taxi. Public transportation is slow. I would not hesitate to rent a car as Orlando roads are excellent and very easy to navigate.

I'm pretty sure they will be fine using public transportation, although I don't think there should be any worrying about driving on the wrong side of the road unless shes new at driving. I think you mean Orlando not Orleans...

She needs to make arrangement to be picked up at the airport this can be done at www.waltdisneyworld.com. Once there all transportation on Disney Property is so simple. Buses, Boats and Monorail take you where you need to go. To go from Disney Property to another area in Orlando area she will need to schedule a Taxi.

When we went, we stayed on site too and had NO car. You don't need one in the park. There are trollies every few minutes going anywhere you want to go. There are stops close to each hotel. As for going to Seaworld, It will be much cheaper to hire a taxi than rent a car. The park might even have transport to Sea World. We didn't go there.

I have stayed in the park numerous times and although I use Disney transportation to go back and forth in Disneyworld, I also rent a car so we can go outside the park. If your friend wants to go to seaworld, I'm sure you could get a taxi.
