Isn't this a sad time of year? Here in Missouri, the rivers are strong and hard to fish. The stocked lakes have been fished to very low populations. Some people come right after stocking and catch the fish that still are used to fisheries and easy to catch. I don't think there's much challenge in that. Mostly I'm just gabbing.
I actually flatten out the barbs on my hooks on stocked lakes. Can just flip caught fish off line that way.
Anybody still troll on small lakes?
I got a nice stripped bass on a small lake in Michigan when my line was all tangled on the oars of the row boat. Made dinner for 6 or 8 of us. We were young and believe it or not, trolling in the boat.
Keep the faith, brothers and sisters.

I just can't ask my son or SIL since it would be too embarassing, and all the fishing books i've seen, assume i know. I know it has to do with leader. Answer, and the fishing gods will give you luck.

How do I replace the grip that acts as the front of the reel seat (by screwing onto the seat after the reel is in place)? The plastic cracked due to too much tightening. I imagine that it could be done by removing the line guide(s) above it, sliding it off and replacing it. But replacing the line guides seems to be a tedious task.

I have heard that it is well known rule that the captain of a fishing charter gets to keep any "giant" fish like Tuna, etc. Is this true, and why is this allowed if you are the one paying for the boat charter?

I was told that when you catch a tuna, you must bleed it straight away. How do you do this? Do you cut its head off and hang it upside down, or is there a specific technique?

Why does an open face spinning reel in one of it's two modes (after the switch is flipped) not allow the line to be reeled in...only out? I can see not allowing the line to be let out, but to not allow it to be reeled in seems strange.

During a move, my graphite fly rod split near the top. The peaces fit together well enough to glue but I dont thing glue will hold if I have a big fish on... or even repeated casts. Is there some way to fix it, maybe glue and a brace or something?

Does anyone know how I can keep my bait around 30 ft deep over an 80 foot bottom while bank fishing? I can't use a balloon or bobber, because I can't cast 30 ft of line obviously.
