We recently went on a holiday to Wyong, NSW, Australia. We went fishing but all we caught were three very small bream and a small flathead. What are some good fishing places in that area?

A good fresh water fisherman knows what his prey is and its' method of feeding. Most are ambushers. Look for snags or water plants that hide the predator. Bottom feeders may prefer gravel over sand and then their are mud puppies. It is also helpful to understand the breeding habits. Bream will nest in pea size gravel, while fishes of the cichlids family will prefer rocks or roots of plants and trees. Certain insects bloom at different times so it is good to know this and what fish feed upon them. The weather has allot to do with feeding. I found that fishing prior to an in coming Hi Pressure change will net more fish. Changes in water temperatures also effect fishing. If you do not know these few facts it makes no difference where the good spots are.

A good rule to remember about Fishing Spots, is to locate, track and identify honey holes (fish gatherings), whereas the fish usually are abundant because of the structure beneath the surface seen or unseen. It attracts them because the smaller fish hide there and the bigger ones usually are not far away.

Gatun Lake - Republic of Panama
Get a good guide and you'll catch more peacock bass than your boat can hold.
Like wise if you goto anywhere in that country the type fish will be different, but the result the same.

FISHING IS RIDICULOUS IN THAT COUNTRY!

PS
If Marlin is your thing....Goto the US Territory Guam!
