I'm not a soccer fan, but I'm curious....what is this "cheating" against the aussies people are talking about?

I don't think they should, because they show poor sportsmanship and their play is not in the spirit of the game. If teams are allowed to win games by diving and by getting players sent off on purpose, well, that's just not football, not a football I respect anyway. Italy and Portugal bring the game into disrepute. If football means anything, it should kick them out of the cup.

Italy was cheated into the championship if that guy didn't make that stupid move in the game against Australia they wouldn't be winning everything. The guy just ran over and just purposly fell so Italy had to cheat them selfs into the championship because they werent good enough to beat Australia. France worked hard and didn't cheat and deserved a fair win instead of Italy getting there unfairly. So who else is mad that France lost to Italy?

Any team who has to cheat their wa\y past a team like Australia does not deserve to be in the final let alone win it. Do tyou really think this is an achievment. You have made a mockery of the greatest sporting competition in the world and I am sickened to see the Italian team celebrating this fact.

A salute to all the nations who lost out, but lost out gracefully. The real sporting victory is yours.

I am not Portuguese but I have been an admirer of Portuguese football throughout this WC tournament and so for all those who accused Portugal of being cheats, and the GREAT Figo for being a cheat too, well, there it is, Z.Zidane, who headbutts that italian with all the force he could throw.--Not a nudge like Figo's but a hell of a headbutt. It seem to me that there was some hysteria about Figo... they all do that sort of thing, don't they ? Figo must be chuckling right now !! And may I say what a boring final it was. Two second rate teams. And France needing a penalty from the referee. The whooe British TV media say "no, it was not a penalty !" -- Views ?
