I don't think they should, because they show poor sportsmanship and their play is not in the spirit of the game. If teams are allowed to win games by diving and by getting players sent off on purpose, well, that's just not football, not a football I respect anyway. Italy and Portugal bring the game into disrepute. If football means anything, it should kick them out of the cup.

You're absolutely right, Italy was a bit more decent than Portugal this year, but they play so dirty!! Figo is the worst, and C. Ronaldo shouldn't be allowed into a football stadium ever again..
Anyway.. I love the World Cup, it should be done every 2 years, and the Euro Cup, every year

They should be allowed to play BUT the quality and bias of the game officials, especially the referee should be questioned. This years world cup was given away by the poor quality of the refereeing.

A good ref would have put paid to the unsportsmanlike behaviour that dominated the world cup this year.

You can't simply ban them from entering the next world cup. FIFA has to challenge the cheats and even if it goes un noticed during a game by an official then a player who is involved in cheating should be punished after the game by FIFA by giving out suspensions and hefty fines.

all players dive, swear at other players, fake injuries for time, etc... They all guilty of it. Getting players sent off on purpose? That's the refs decision, when any foul looks remotely beneficial to their own team they all call the ref "look here did you see that", it's up to the ref to call the foul or card. There really isn't pure football in these big tournaments unfortunately.

They will play in the next one if the qualify, like any other country! (England won't have is "fairplayer" Ronney in the two first qualifying games for EURO2008 over his brilliant "sportsmanship". And you think that Portugal and Italy are the ones to blame??)

Hooray! Someone agree's with what I think! It certainly would be a way of cleaning it up. Most of the games I saw ended in a brawl,in some cases, namely Portugal, even the Managers joined in! A disgrace to their country!

Portugal were divers and chancers but did you miss what France just played?

A deliberate head but and red card! Diving galore!

France without the diving could have left the field with honour but not after the way they played.

They should be allowed if they qualify, but in order to stop foul play the referee's should have a 5th official reviewing their diving exploits, and anyone caught should get a straight red.

In that case, throw out 32 teams, for they are all the same when given the opportunity. Who is asking for your respect anyway, go sleep on it.
