It seemed to be sorted between them when Zidane started to walk off. The Italian player then definitely said something derogatory for Zidane to turn like that.
Yes, Zidane lost it and was rightfully sent off, but the Italian played a part in Zidanes response by whatever he said.

The Italian guy was un-sportsman like and reached and grabbed his bollocks and tried to whack him off. That's a foul, but Zidane hates homos so he tried to mess him with a head but, I would have done the same damn thing. Most of the men in Italy are homos according to the Guinness Book of world records

even if the italian guy said something bad, Zidane had no right to physically hurt him. I am sure that the other guy said something annoying but that is no excuse. He deserved the red card. Precisely for this I am glad that italy won.

I think the other player probably said something that was really provocative but he should have been the better man and not reacted. He is aware that this is the end of his football career and he should have that in mind and bow out gracefully. It is crippling that he choose to end his great career this way because this would be the image embedded in people's mind for a long time and not how good he was. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE BETTER MAN AND NOT REACTED. No matter how infuriation the comment he received was.

he must of been insulted, cuz he was a good three feet in front of the italian player who said soemthing before he turned around & bam!! did ya see how the italian fell down? That was no tap. Zizou is old enough to brush off any usual comments - it must of been really rude. I'm watching French TV, hope they tell us why!!
Later:
OK here's what they say: apparently the Italian player called him 'terrorist'. they had a lipreader verify it!

I congratulate him....I get tired of all these atheletes diving for a bump in the leg or something....it's stupid. I actually give the player more credit if it really was a good hit. For whoever was on the revieving end of the headbutt.......good job......way to tough it out. Congrats to italy though

That Italy guy probably said something about his mother. In that case, I would've headbutted the guy too.

HE MUST HAVE SAID SOMETHING BAD. BUT STILL ZIDANE SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN HIS REVENGE IN THAT MANNER. HE SHOULD HAVE SCORED ANOTHER GOAL THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER REVENGE
