Football - January 2007

Recently, a friend of mine told me that there was a soccer section on Yahoo Answers. Although I doubted him, I am delighted that I was wrong. It’s good to see that there are many people out there who appreciate this sport as much as I do. The excitement of people running up and down a field for 90 minutes, the thrill of witnessing a zero-zero tie. You can’t beat it. Not to mention the passion of the fans. I mean in what other sport do you have legions of fans literally killing each other in the stands, all because of a ball being kicked into a net? Soccer brings out that toughness in people. Hell even the French get violent at soccer games. I mean they may not know how to train an army or shower on a regular basis, but they know how to hit someone over the head with an anti-freeze laden wine bottle when their team loses. I prefer South American Soccer though. I especially like it when they kill the Goalie. Not to mention the livestock in the stands. Gooooaaaallll!!!

as i mention in my last question which got reported the result of the match is 1-0 we won they gave a own goal they other team's goolkeeper mistakly did it now we r in the quater finals it was our luck which helped as that day

I can hear the teeth grinding, but... lets go...

I personally neither like nor dislike liverpool however their fans are a different matter...

In my experience....

Liverpool fans are totally deluded that they can compete with the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd.

Liverpool fans constantly seem to want to live in the past, rather than look to the future.

Liverpool lose twice to Arsenal they all go quiet, they beat Man Utd and they're all going crazy.

In short, Although a good team, you are NOT the greatest team in the world, your not even the greatest team in the country, so take a reality pill.

Even man utd and chelsea fans arn't constantly on the 'we;re the best team in the world ever'...

Man Utds treble in 1999 has proven them to have had THE best team ever, oh yeah... forget Liverpools mickey mouse treble.

Swindon for example. It looks after last night that Shevchenko has finally found his level, he scored 2 against a league two team. Maybe he should be playing his football in that division? He cant prove him self in the premiership, so maybe a transfer to Swindon would get the best out of him.
