Recently, a friend of mine told me that there was a soccer section on Yahoo Answers. Although I doubted him, I am delighted that I was wrong. It’s good to see that there are many people out there who appreciate this sport as much as I do. The excitement of people running up and down a field for 90 minutes, the thrill of witnessing a zero-zero tie. You can’t beat it. Not to mention the passion of the fans. I mean in what other sport do you have legions of fans literally killing each other in the stands, all because of a ball being kicked into a net? Soccer brings out that toughness in people. Hell even the French get violent at soccer games. I mean they may not know how to train an army or shower on a regular basis, but they know how to hit someone over the head with an anti-freeze laden wine bottle when their team loses. I prefer South American Soccer though. I especially like it when they kill the Goalie. Not to mention the livestock in the stands. Gooooaaaallll!!!

I prefer Gay Rugby..... Or as you call it American Football where you wear big gay pads and dont even use your feet, unless youre running on them !! Or Baseball - which we call Rounders and get kids and women to play.

Well, I am a true "Football" (as we Scots say it) fan. I completely agree with what you said about the thrill you get! I don't like watching it on the television as much as I like going to a game, because you lose the whole atmosphere! There truly is nothing like sitting out in the freezing cold, or rain, cheering on your favorite team, and getting your energy built up for the next chant you sing!
Its AMAZING!
Right now my favorite teams, have to be DC united, Rangers FC (Glasgow), Barcelona, and a few others. Man U is excellent as well.

Yeah, hard to miss that sarcasm. Here in America soccer is ridiculed quite a bit. That's because the average attention span here is about 10 minutes...only sports that can provide non-stop 'scoring' have any appeal. Not to mention the sport of soccer is dominated by guys that are actually in good physical condition-unlike the overweight, steroid-fed linebackers of the NFL.

Better than grown men playing "rounders" and "netball" - usually the reserve of all girl schools in the UK. Football is the World's greatest sport, no body armour - that's for poofs.
