Football (American) - January 2007

[Selected]: All categories Sports Football (American)

I will be attending Indiana University starting in August. I am thinking I want to try out for the fullback position for the football team. The problem is I haven't played football since I was 9 years old, and even then I never played fullback. I am not worried about the size, speed, and strength requirements, only the mental aspect of the game. I have absolutely no understanding of the position, however there is no other position I would be able to play. Is there any way for me to learn the position in the next 8 months or do I have no chance of ever playing college football.

How many quarterbacks actually succeed in their first full season anyway? Are Bears fans starving that much for a quarterback and is there too much pressure being placed on the guy-when their secondary all of a sudden can't cover my grandmother?

how does it work? does the winning team of a bowl advance to a "higher bowl" and then have to compete for the top bowl (like the ncaa equivalant of the superbowl) kind of like march madness or a playoff format where the winner of each game along the way wins a trophy? or is each team placed in a certain bowl depending on their ranking within their division? or some other way?

LSU 52, NOTRE DAME 6

I say it will only be LSU 24 and Notre Dame 3. However. . the second half will get very ugly! Brady Quinn will throw a temper tantrum because he'll be realizing again (like he did against michigan and USC) that it takes talent to put up big numbers against a non service academy team or the salvation army powder puff team. LSU's third string will pile it on in the fourth quarter and LSU will end up winning 47 to 13. Charlie Weiss will still cry that his team gets no respect. . . and both he and Lou Holtz will state Notre Dame should still be the National Champion!

I believe the Cards are able to beat them, but that's a little biased as I'm from "DA VILLE".
