I will be attending Indiana University starting in August. I am thinking I want to try out for the fullback position for the football team. The problem is I haven't played football since I was 9 years old, and even then I never played fullback. I am not worried about the size, speed, and strength requirements, only the mental aspect of the game. I have absolutely no understanding of the position, however there is no other position I would be able to play. Is there any way for me to learn the position in the next 8 months or do I have no chance of ever playing college football.

Don't worry. You're going to Indiana. No one there knows how to play football either.

If u have the other stuff like conditioning, strength, speed , full back requires u to block mainly, so ur like a lineman on the run, if u want the ball though u might wanna be increase ur speed till ur real fast so u can get the ball too, but i would look at films of other popular fullbacks in the nfl like lorenzo neal, the fullbacks carve a path for the running backs to run.

U ever heard of a walk on. You've got a shot for sure if the only thing you need is the mental aspect of the game. If you have someone who knows something about what it takes in college football, talk to them. There are web sites that can connect you to people if you need coaching also.
