IMO, it's because team basketball has gone the way of the dodo. The Knicks (being from Bronx, NY and now living in Tx, I hate ragging on them but I'm so pissed off with them it isn't even funny) are a perfect example of how it is with so many teams - you have a bunch of me-first, overpaid underachievers and semi-stars who don't deliver the goods. I was around during the time of the 80s teams and early 90s teams, and I can tell you there was so much depth in each conference because the teams believed in team basketball! Look what happened to the Lakers this past year, talk about going from 60 to zero (an exaggeration but still, compared to how they were when they were playing as a unit). The real loser here is the hardcore fan, who year after year pays for tickets just to see a team barely reach .500 and witness more boneheaded mngement deals. What is your opinion as to how the NBA can improve? Memo to Comm/Owners/Whatever: it's not finding another MJ. It's going back to basics
